The module will introduce students to contemporary business models and strategies, enabling managers to make effective business decisions. Students will acquaint themselves with online marketplaces and touch points, virtual ecosystems, data, machine learning, and ethical and regulatory aspects of the business environment. Students will build on their existing understanding of management and organisations within a framework that will enable them to relate their experience to contemporary ideas and practice with.
The central aims of the module are to explore and evaluate the characteristics of Big Data using the 5 Vs model; develop a critical understanding of various tools and techniques that can be used to manage and interpret Big Data, evaluate data governance issues and develop business solutions based upon Big Data outputs and analyses. Students will also be required to consider the ethical, legal and regulatory challenges such as GDPR that are associated with Big Data analysis.
The module will enable students to understand the importance of managing CX and UX within the marketing environment. Students will explore sources of tracking UX and CX, discuss relevant academic theory in the domain, evaluate relevant software applications and plan and develop UX and CX strategies.
This module focuses on the various approaches available to project managers to ensure that a project is initiated, planned, managed, controlled and closed effectively – i.e. effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle given this flexible context and how technology itself can help Project Managers undertake this.
The module aims to: • provide an overview of contemporary supply chain management practice and issues • evaluate the main technological and digital disrupters impacting supply chains • consider the roles of traditional operations management with supply chain efficiency • appreciate the importance of ethical decision making, resilience and regulations in supply chain decision-making

To apply key concepts within supply chain logistics network design, distribution and fulfillment systems 3. To critically discuss sustainability, ethical and cultural differences when reaching supply chain logistics decisions 4. To evaluate appropriate software and technological tools in the design of network and fulfilment systems 5. To develop problem solving, team working, presentation and practical skills.
